Lasers and pulsed light
Skin blemishes, scars, stretch marks, visible capillaries, unwanted hair: a range of issues that can be treated at our centre, thanks to the use of cutting-edge technology.
Studio Garavaglia uses the best equipment available on the market: fractional lasers, Q-switched lasers, Nd:YAG lasers, IPL (Intense Pulsed Light) and diode lasers, selected to offer the most effective solution for each specific condition, with a personalised laser treatment tailored to each patient’s actual concerns.

Laser treatment for ageing: Clear&Brilliant
Clear&Brilliant is a gentle yet powerful non-ablative fractional laser that combats and prevents the signs of skin ageing. It creates microscopic thermal zones in which damaged skin is gradually replaced by new tissue. As it is non-ablative, it does not cause burns and allows for a quick recovery: post-treatment redness is moderate and the sensation of heat disappears within a few hours.
The results include a more even and radiant complexion, a reduction in pores, scars and superficial wrinkles, and an overall improvement in skin tone and texture.
Lasers for pigmented lesions: Q-switched
The skin can develop dark patches due to a number of factors: sun exposure, medical conditions, acne scars and age-related changes, in the form of accumulations of melanin pigment that can appear on the face, décolleté, arms and hands. The Q-switched laser is one of the fastest and most effective methods for treating these forms of hyperpigmentation: it selectively targets the melanosome without damaging the surrounding skin, allowing for extremely rapid healing.
Before treatment, it is advisable to avoid prolonged exposure to the sun and UV rays, and it is important not to take any photosensitising medication.
Pulsed light for pigmented lesions: Lumenis M22
The principle behind intense pulsed light (IPL) therapy is the release of energy in the form of intense flashes of light, using different filters depending on the treatment. The mechanism is similar to that of a laser, but it transmits signals at multiple wavelengths simultaneously.
For the treatment of pigmented lesions using pulsed light, the wavelength is calibrated to be absorbed only by the target cells of the lesion, triggering thermal damage that leads to the elimination of the vacuole containing the pigment. In the weeks that follow, the lesions initially become darker, then dry out and flake off, whilst fibroblasts are stimulated to produce new collagen.
Fractional laser treatment for scars: Lumenis M22
The most effective method currently available for treating scars is non-ablative fractional laser treatment. It is described as ‘fractional’ because it emits light beams in a series of rapid pulses, performing a very precise ablation without causing burns or damaging the surrounding tissue.
Tissue coagulation breaks down damaged cells, stimulating the growth of healthy cells and the production of new collagen. In cases of hypertrophic scars, preparatory treatment may be necessary; however, even long-standing scars can be treated with good results.
Fractional laser treatment for stretch marks: Lumenis M22
For stretch marks, too, the most effective method is non-ablative fractional laser treatment, which is based on the same principle of fractional emission: closely spaced pulses of light that perform precise ablation without causing burns or damaging the surrounding tissue. Controlled tissue coagulation stimulates healthy cell growth and the production of new collagen, gradually reducing the depth and colour contrast of stretch marks.
Lasers for vascular lesions: Lumenis M22
The Lumenis M22 Nd:YAG (1064 nm) laser is the medical laser with the greatest ability to penetrate the skin, capable of reaching even blood vessels located in the deepest layers of the skin. The energy emitted causes the capillary to coagulate and be removed: this is the most effective method for treating capillaries, angiomas and telangiectasias on the face.
The machine is fitted with an efficient integrated cooling system, which ensures that no heat is felt on the treated areas and makes the sessions very comfortable.
Lasers for facial and body hair removal: Lumenis LightSheer Desire
Laser hair removal is currently the safest and most effective method available for the permanent removal of unwanted hair. The diode laser targets only the hair bulb without damaging the surrounding tissue: light rays of different wavelengths target the melanin present in the follicle and are converted into thermal energy, causing it to vaporise within a single pulse lasting one second.
